Need help on a engine swap for a 83 Bronco 4x4. Current engine in Bronco is a 302 with a 3 speed automatic w/ a married transfer case. The question is, would a 351c bolt on this transmission? I have been told that the tranny is a C-6 with a small block bell. I have been told that it would and some say it won't. Please let me know.

The bellhousing pattern is the same and the motor mounts
are the same. I suppose you could use a 351m/400 rear sump
oil pan and pickup tube. I've never done this but I do know
you might have problems with the exhaust. You would think
you could use headers for a 351m/400 4x4 Bronco/pickup but
I tried using these headers on a 351c in a different setup
and the header will bolt to the heads but the collector hits
the bellhousing.

 

Thanks Franklin............I figured it would work but needed to hear it from some eles. I do have the rear sump pan and a pick up from a 400. I have a set of headers from a 77 f250 4x4, if it works it would be nice. If not I will have to use stock exhaust manifolds or shorty's. I will post to let you know if it works out.
