7.3 VS. 6.0? which do you perfer and why?

Hey guys. Need some help figuring out which to get. I'm looking for something with power and also fuel economy too. I have a family of 5, so of course it would have to be the true four door. Please any and all info accepted and appreciated.

This is a very heated topic- a question that'll get many folks up in arms.... You may want to go to the superduty forum and do a search. I own a 7.3, and I love it. Guys who own a 04 and up 6.0 would probably say the same thing (the 03 had a bunch of problems). That's all I'm gonna say on this subject!!

Mongo is 100% right. I own a 7.3 so you know what I'm gonna say. I will tell you I will never own a gasser again.

The debate is a sensitive subject and answers will depend on who you ask. Your really can't do wrong either way if you shop for a well maintained truck.

Power shouldn't be an issue either way and economy isn't a strength of either. With the price of gas raising like it is, a super duty could be a good answer even at 16 mpg. Hell yesterday I saw diesel for $2.89 and it was $3.71 for regular.

If you do, avoid early 6.0L they had problems (03-04) For my that put a newer powerstroke out of my price range.
