called in sick, finally got crossmember removed.
i've not been looking forward to removing the transmission crossmember.
plan is to remount about 6" back.
my truck is still very rusty and dirty, and i knew i'd have to climb under to get the 16 solid rivits out without damaging frame or crossmember. so i took a day off work.......
it was as nasty as i guessed, but was nicely suprised to see it bolted up to the tranny i'm going to be installing perfect, NP435.
it's sitting about 2" too low, i'll fix when i modifiy the crossmember for front driveshaft clearance.

Very interesting! It appears that your F-3's crossmember, mounted in the stock position in an F-1, would clear a T-5 yet retain the strength of a stock crossmember, and still retain the pedals....
I would really appreciate it if you could take a measurement vertically from the top flange of the crossmember (where it rivets to the top of the frame rail) to the top of the surface you are mounting the trans on.
