VHS rear seat system ?

This 2002 Excursion I just bought came with apparently a dealer installed VHS rear seat entertainment system. I知 not up to changing it out for a DVD, as it works, and I値l probably never use it.

That said, what I find is that the VHS only works when the radio is turned on. The way is now people in the back seat can watch a movie, but the people in the front can稚 listen to the radio at the same time. <O

Does anyone have any experience with this system?

Is there any way back seat passengers can watch a movie with headphones while front seat passengers listen to the radio?
<O
Unfortunately there is no manual, and the owner痴 manual has no reference to VHS systems.

Yes! I have one too and its really nice. However it works in pretty much the same manner as the DVD the owners manual speaks of. You should be able to listen to something else up front while the player is going in back. Fact is, it doesn't matter what the front or back occupants are listening to as long as they're not the same. Just follow the directions in the owners manual, mine works the same as they outline.

I actually use it "backwards". We'll watch a VHS or plug in the DVD player into the AUX input and the wife/kids will watch movies using the speakers, I'll put the headphones on, plug in the rear system and listen to the radio or MP3 player.

My owner's manual has absolutly nothing about VHS or VCP. it only mentions DVD, and has no information about listening to two different sources at the same time.
When VCP is selected with the mode button on the steering wheel or the radio the only thing that will play is the VHS deck, if you try to play the radio at the same time, the VHS cuts out.

I'm stumped right now.

did you try to push the 2 and 4 buttons on the radio? This enables a dual mode on the DVD systems. Allowing you to change what you are listening to up front. This probably won't work if you don't have the headphones for the VHS player.

Thanks all, I finally got it to work properly. Ya need a PHD in manual reading to figure this one out.

2 and 4 was the secret code, plus pushing the headphone button on the rear VCP.

Whew, now all I need is a remote and someone to drive the truck while I watch pornos in the back..............anyone?
