Man that's crazy... been under my GMC enough to think it had a pretty stout frame, I can't imagine the kind of force it takes to bend a vehicle's frame like that.

All the best for the guy.

Somehow the force hurt his back. I don't know but it sounds scary. Screwing around having a good time one minute to getting hurt like that would suck.

The laws of physics, essentially momentum and inertia. When the truck hit the ground it bounced back up. The occupant, because of inertia, is still headed down and the truck is heading up. So, basically the force of trucks recoil (and the trucks partial weight) got released on his spine. There's no shock absorbers on his seat so the force of the truck causes compression and snap. I use to see stuff like that when I was an EMT. Huge bummer.

WOW in that second thread, that first wreck is nasty. Get a little further down the page and he says:
Yep got thrown 75ft out of that (truck), broke both my tib and fib in BOTH legs and got some nerve damage to my left leg and ripped all my tended and ligaments in my left knee. Got ALL KINDS of hardwear in both legs now.
Eeesh no fun. Now it's functioning and purely an offroad machine, I'll give him props for that, quite original.
Bridge said it quite well, but look at what it did to the truck. While it looks sound in terms of body, the frame is obviously bent. Now...if you slam a hammer hard against your frame, what's it going to do? Nothing. But if you slam a hammer hard against your spine, what's it going to do? You'll be in a wheelchair the rest of your life.
Now...if that little force will do that to your spine, imagine what the force that bent that frame would do, even through the comparetively soft seat.
