Exclamation Engine coolant blowing out of coolant reservoir 6.0L power stroke

I have been noticeing engine coolant dripping from my finder well, it seems to only do this when you hold it to the floor, I just recently had the egr cooler and engine oil cooler replaced. this was supposed to eliminate this problem. I have a banks sixgun tuner with pda, my boost doesnt get over 30 psi, stock it is 26 psi. any ideas what is causeing this problem

I have no real world experience with diesels, but this sounds suspiciously like a head gasket leak. Probably a small one since it isn't doing it all the time. I know on a gas engine you can check for this. I assume there are checkers for diesels too.

Or maybe there is air in the system which is getting pushed around at high RPM and forcing water out the tank??

Good Luck,

6.0s with tuners tend to do that...you may want to post this in the 6.0 forum for more info. or try a search in that forum...

Yes when you put a tuner on a 6.0 you have to becareful the headbolts like to stretch and it will pick heads up off the block at high boost leading to headgasket failure. I would go to the 6.0 forum and let them help you out.

What level are you running your coolant at? It is a well documented problem that the fill level sticker on the degas bottle is wrong on a lot of trucks. There is a tsb for this where they are suppsed to replace the sticker, but recently it seems like they are just drawing on the tank with a sharpie. Most guys are finding thier trucks want to run with the coolant about 1/2" below the min mark on the bottle. Any higher than that and it tends to spray out.

Another problem is for the cap itself to not seal properly, you may want to see if replacing the cap will fix the problem.
