Remove bed or drop tanks

I need to replace fuel pump on front tank on 95f150 check valve filling rear tank and the float assembly on back tank fuel pump not sure which would be easier remove bed or drop both tanks to remove pumps. Also I plan on selling truck so where is best place to get pumps the chain stores don't carry the float assembly not even NAPA

You'd be way ahead to get a buddy or two and remove the bed, especially since you need to work on both tanks. I've done it and it's not that difficult. Spray the bed bolts ahead of time to give the penetrant time to work. Ford still sells the brass floats, a C3AZ part number. Oh, get a set of fuel line tools too.

i will have to do this soon as well since my front sending unit is bad. i hear they come with the pump. . . . regardless, might as well replace everything you CAN down there while you are there.

i will end up raising the bed. i will have help of my engine crane though . . hehe
i will still need to get two buddies to help me though. really, all you need to do is disconnect it, raise it and drive the truck away. thats what i will do.

good luck

Three screws per filler neck and don't forget the hose clamp that clamps the hose to a support tab under the bed.

FYI. There are some deals to be had on eBay for these pumps. I have a complete interchange on them if anyone needs it.

Well i just completed this job 2 weeks ago on my buddies chevy. I have done the drop tank method many times. so for kicks and giggles we thought sence we are both pretty big boys that we will remove the bed. All I can say is that is the only way to play with the fuel tanks. Everything is out of your way, and there seemed to be a lot less cussing. Its a easy 2 man job or if you got a tal shop or garage then just wrap some straps around it and hoist it up. you will be very thankful you removed the bed.

Steve, the float you said is brass, or did I mis read that I also have a hoist to lift bed so will proceed with bed removal when I get all pump parts. The pumps I can get from Advanced Auto but will probably have to buy level sender and float assembly on line

Read through this old post. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/5...k-problem.html

Yep, Ford still sells the brass floats. If your sender is bad you'll have to bite the bullet, dig deep into your wallet and go to FORD.

I got my pump module for about $40 off of eBay.

An engine hoist will work ....... and you don't have to feed it!

If I can get just a couple more questions answered I'll be there
front tank is that the midship tank and is 16.5 gal considered 17 gal (steel)
rear or aft tank is I think 18.2gal is that the 19gal. (steel)

Thanks for all the help

Where you live its the way to go . I can swap a tank in under 2 hrs .Both on a Saturday and not break sweat but thats just me . It would take me way longer just to get the bed bolts out if I could. But things are rusted fast up here in PA.

These are for the pump modules which include the check valves and the pump. They do not include the sender.
E2059m or E2059MN for the front tank
E2064MN for the rear

E-mailed you the doc.

You are looking at the wrong tank. If it is filling the rear tank then the valves are bad in the rear tank not the front.

Thanks Bill, I read right over that detail.
And the correct brass float # is COAZ-9202-B.
