duramaximizer is new and has a neutral reputation at this point.
Anyone notice how deep the bed looks. The sides are already to high to try and hook up a fifth wheel and keep any clearance to the bed.

Look like they decided not to put a bed on the new crew either. As soon as they put a bed on a crew that more than half sheet plywood will fit in (4x4 )I'll get on I need at least 6 ft. But the rest dosn't look to bad. The bed sides are to high on the current trucks for as high as they sit. And even with camo they still look high even if only couple in above tail light. Just guessing

Been waiting since 96 for a F150 I liked . I have bought/sold a 98,2001,and drive a 2006 now at work and still ended up selling and driving the old 94 F150 I just don't like them . No offense I tried. I want a new truck hope some one at ford ask real truck people not what people want in downtown Hollywood. Manual trans please.

actually, the beds are 5'-6", which is a full 18" longer than your half sheet of plywood...but you still need that extra 6" huh?

Well considering The cost of new truck I would use my truck daily as a work truck need room for a tool box and still haul my tractor and family to camp on weekend . Yes I do need longer bed .And I don't need a F250 and the MPG they get I'm lucky to haul 1000 lbs when I do have to haul . So offer me a decent bed . And I know several people who sold newer crews because of bed or lack of. There is allot of 4 wheelers being hauled around here. and they barely fit without gate down and a week end of equipment to haul. And with gas prices contractors will want light crew cabs to transport people and light materials . And with the short bed why will they even look at them.

as far as 'decent bed', ford offers 3 choices which are all very decent depending upon one's needs--5.5', 6.5', and 8'...you apparently need to haul a small tractor or 4-wheeler in your bed, so choose the one you need...some of us don't haul a 4-wheeler, and modular building materials like plywood require the tailgate down on anything shorter than 8', be it 5.5' or 7.9'

as far as i know (and i could absolutely be wrong) none of the manufacturers offer an 8' bed on a crew cab in a 1/2 ton pickup--and i imagine there are reasons why they don't at this time...but if that's what you are trying to say you need, then by all means ask them for one

your first post seems to indicate you need a 6' bed at minimum, which is acccounted for with 6" to spare on the 6.5' model

If the bed sides were any higher they could have just chopped a hole in the roof of a van and threw in a ladder rack!

Guys, after review, I have my concerns. First thing is - when I see that truck and the rounded front end and the fender flares (if you will) I see a resemblance of Chevy! I don't know how they could do that! Please tell me I'm wrong, but I don't like the rounded looks of the new Chevy.

Who else here sees the resemblance of a Cheby in those pictures?

Thanks for input:
I get tired of you guys reading stuff not there. I used the 4x4 as a what a joke the short beds are if you need room.
First off I said I wanted a bed at least 6ft long a 8 Ft item would be fine with gate down. Nothing was said about a 8 Ft . I would buy one in a minute if they did but I know it won't happen so the old short bed lenght would be nice.
As for the bed options :::
Well first off the dealer said that you can't get anything longer than 5.5 yesterday on crew so where do you get your info? At 5.5 ft if you get more than couple sheets ply or dry or 800 lb the weight is more to the back of truck . I have hauled 10 8ft sheetz drywall on 2004 crew 5.5 bed and I tell you it sucks weight distrubution isn't there.(I haul 16 on my short bed). And you take the 16" for a tool box and you tell me how much you Got? All I ask for is a 6.5 or 7ft bed . With gate down my tractor would fit. I work State wide around many trades they all like the crews (If Ford guys) but won't buy because of bed.
I just posted to say I like truck but needed a longer bed and manual trans.

when my dad picked up his 06, our salesmen was telling us that there were just starting to see the crews with the medium length bed on them but none were sticking around, now on the lot at the dealer there are a lot of crew cabs with the medium length beds sittin in the lot
