Sliding glass/screen side windows for Hard-top

I recently acquired a 91 Bronco..It doesn't have A/C and I have been looking all over for a company that makes replacement glass windows for the side's of the fiberglass top which have screens in them so you can slide the windows open to get better cooling and ventilation.

The only company that I see makes such a thing is a company called CR Lawrence. Have any of you ever purchased their side glass/screen sliders to replace the side fixed windows? If so, please let me know how you like it...I am concerned about leaking and if anyone knows of any other company that makes them or has any other ideas or solutions I would appreciate it. At the moment, I would rather get sliding glass/screen windows and not a soft-top as none of the soft tops that I have seen yet seem very appealing to me...

Thanks for any and all suggestions..

Have you tried looking at a add-on air conditioning system. They are not hard to install. Plus you buy one now and it is R-134a. cheaper to recharge if needed.

Sliding glass/screen side windows for Hard-top

Hi Rywegh,

I thought about installing A/C but it doesn't get all that hot here in the summer so I don't feel its worth the expense...The CR Lawrence company makes sliding glass replacement windows to replace the fixed side windows for the fiberglass top but they only sell to auto glass dealers etc... I did go to a local auto glass place who deals with CR Lawrence and they told me it would run me $400-500 for the sliders including installation..

Since I posted this I saw the soft top that Skyler makes so I just posted a new message a few minutes ago asking people how they like the Skyler or if they have any suggestions about any other soft-tops..

I will be using the Bronco daily down on the beach this summer so I am now leaning towards a soft-top...

I appreciate your replying...Thanks!!

Sliding glass/screen side windows for Hard-top

Thanks 96 Bronco for the Pep Boys tip. I have never been to one of their stores but there is one about half an hour from me so I will check it out...and to AIM, Thanks for the link where I can buy the side sliding windows direct..The CRLawrence company that makes them is very well known I have come to find out. Seems they manufacturer different products for the construction trade and since I posted my message, I talked with a contractor who does bath-room remodeling and he told me they have quailty products..The local auto glass place also does business with them, mostly for their sun-roofs and again, nothing but praise and since the sliders are $310.00 a pair for which I agree with you that it is quite inexpensive, I am leaning towards getting them and maybey even a sun-roof instead of the soft-top but as of now, I am still un-decided which way to go but I appreciate all of your help and will post again when I do something one way or the other...Thanks Again to all of you..

ok dude, good luck!
i said inexpensive, (which I see you agree with) mainly because my old aerostar needed both rear side glass replaced (because they were supposed to be tinted) when I bought it new..the price was about $400.00 each and that's just for the glass.
