tool for fuel filter removal???

do i need a special tool to change my fuel filter. its got those quick connects but i cant get them to work. i got a 94 f150 where the filter is on the left frame rail. i dont want to get to rugged with it. can someone knock some sense into me?

I got mine at advance but I'm sure it's the same thing. I belive it's a fuel line and a/c disconnect tool, it's plastic and has a slit on one end where you can slide it over the line and push it into the fitting. The pack I got had a lot of different sizes in and it was fairly cheap too.
