ball joints need help a.s.a.p

i have an 89 f250 that needs new ball joints i have it all apart and have the nuts off and cant get the ball joints to knock out of the axle it has like a keeper on the top but i dont know how to get it off can anyone else tell me how to get it apart thanks justin

meck1 is starting off with a positive reputation.
On my '87 F250, two wheel drive, I did the ball joints a couple of years ago. As I recall, I removed a snap ring, then rigged up a large c-clamp and a short piece of pipe to push each joint out of the axle. I don't remember having a lot of trouble with it.
