I'm attempting to remove both the supply and return fuel lines from the switching valve used to switch between the front and rear fuel tanks. This is on a 91 F250 7.3 non-turbo with dual fuel tanks. The fuel lines have a 90-degree boot at the valve with a retention clip. I've pried the clips back, and the boot loosens so I can lift a little. However, the boot/fuel line will not completely come off the switching valve.

I'd appreciate any assistance.

I'm not sure of the switch valve, but on the tanks the clip has to be completly removed.

 

The clips have to be completely removed from the fitting.
There is a ridge around the line that the clip inside opening is smaller than as soon as the clip starts in the fitting.

 

Yup. One flew off into the grass when I pried it off, and I could not find it.

Line came right off and on.
