Leaking fuel tank

I just noticed my fuel tank leaking, from what I can see it looks like it's at the top of the tank where the fuel lines go in.

I have always filled the tank to the top of the filler neck and no problems so far, the leak did stop once the tank down to the full mark.

Just wondered if anyone else had had any problems.

thanks in advance for the replies.

Sounds like the crack where the fuel line comes in may be cracked. You need to drop the tank and examine the tank and lines.

I'm not sure if the factory tanks can be repaired. You may have to get another tank if yours is cracked.

I am under warranty just don't have time to get it in right now. Didn't know if anyone else had had the same issues. plus I hate to take it in with a full tank try a make it a little easier for the tech's.

Yeah it is easier for the techs if the tank is near empty plus you won't "lose" quite as much gas when they drop it.

It may just be bad hoses if it is just the fuel lines. That should be a pretty easy fix and maybe even can be done off the truck. I don't know since I never had this particular problem.

Good Luck, and no smoking,

Yes, mine dose the same thing.88 F250.Its from water build up in the front part of the truck bed,and the crack between the cab and the bed.Stuff falls down there on your CAT and tank.If you have a plastic bedliner then it has holes.I need to replace my front tank, because the truck will ping if i use it.Rear tank works great ,but dosent hold as much fuel.Tank is rusted with cracks some were.
