I just bought an '08 F250 6.4L two weeks ago and twice this week when i would attempt to start the motor the starter would spin up but the motor wouldn't crank over....as if the stater gear wasn't engaging the flywheel. Has anyone else had this problem? Anyone know what may be going on?

You better get this starter problem into the dealer and get it corrected before you need a tow truck to get it there.

The problem is intermitent (twice in 2-wks), so i'm not sure what the dealership can do if they can't reproduce it. But if it happens again i'll run it by them just in case.

 

just take it in and tell them, they might just straight up replace the starter on your truck right off the bat

Had the same thing happen at 450 miles there was another guy at the diesel stop who had it happen too, I told the dealers rep about it he took down the info but found nothing on there data base about it. I would report it to your dealer and have him write up a report and give you copy just incase it turn into a future problem

 

started spun agin today 2200 mile reset key started fine

 

What'd the stealership have to say about it?
