ok..ok...ihave a 96 bronco...how about an led readout of trouble codes...with short descriptions?..and applicable info from the owner's manual such as part numbers/specs for bulbs, fluids, levels, capacities, specs..etc?......
and a tire pressure readout ala HumVee's/etc.?
also, a heater for the w/s washer fluid..ala what jacob's and others offer (in-line with the heater hose)....
w/s wipers that can be extended up (as in my old van) so when ice/snow comes they can be raised so they don't freeze to the w/s; can be cleaned ezier; and covered with a tube or something...
hey guys!..i have an idea for a relatively cheap in cab remote sending video sys for about $100.00, so you can see the blind spots...or watch your bronco from your home...all you need is a tv with vid (and audio to listen to it sleep..lol) rca jacks; for in cab monitor..a cheap ac/dc b&w tv will do (about $30 bucks on sale sometimes)

I say build the Bronco. They brought the T-Bird back, why not the Bronc? I would agree with the general concencus that it should be built on the super-duty platform and available with the same drivetrain options. Removable top a must, with an off-road package following close behind. But not just decals and plastic skidplates. Just my 2 cents worth.

Ok, Ok...
I had a lot of input on what I wanted in my last posting here on this page...I hope more people add input.
I also would have to agree that the Excursion platform could be a bit too big. However...if you can adopt the tight turning radius of the 1990-1996 Bronco...I would say it is ok. I love being able to get through places even a Jeep can't because of Turning Radius being that of a 18-wheeler...LOL
With this new UniMog coming to the U.S. we better gear up to give it some competition...people that want real hard-core off roading will be buying those at the similar price that this new Bronco will probably cost... I do think that the UniMog is really too big for many trails, but you get out to Utah or some open places like that, and the UNI will definitely outdo the Bronco if Ford doesn't gear up to give it some competition.
Give the new Bronco increased cambered-angle ability, approach and departure angle ability and it would be awesome.
I agree with the idea of a diagnostic readout...but that would be taking business away from the ford service department, and could get a lot of ignorant people in trouble if they try to repair something themselves just because it tells them what is wrong with it...so, I don't know...maybe put it as an option...then only the serious people would opt for that addition.
Sincerely,

Sorry about the pics. What has happened is that the link that the pic used to come from has changed, but I can't go back and edit the link in something that's already posted. I am still continuing to send posts to Ford when I get them.

I've seen the new one. it's due out in 2005!!!! It does kinda look like a 2 door excusion now that I think about it. Though is based on the F150 frame, with many of the feature found in the Super Duty F250's and larger. Appearantly there was still a niche market for the bronco, and Ford KNOWS this, and is going to fill it with a viable truck.

Where did you see the new Bronco, and how do you know the release date? I'd love to be able to announce this to about 1200 of my peers, but I need more information. Do you live near a Ford testing area, or did you see it at an auto show, or what?

LAST EDITED ON 13-Mar-01 AT 01:34 AM (EST)[p]Small Bronco (My personal preference...love 'em both, though):
Dana 44 solid front axle
8.8" or Dana 44 rear axle
Coil springs, at least in front
Engine Options: 4.0L V6, 4.6L V8
NV4500 Manual Transmission
100-inch or less wheelbase
Minimum 31x10.5 BFGs
Big Bronco:
Dana 60 solid front axle
10.25" rear axle
Engine Options: 5.4L V8, V10, Powerstroke Diesel
6-Speed manual transmission or NV4500
105-inch or less wheelbase
Minimum 33x10.5 BFGs
Both:
MANUAL Transmission
MANUAL Transfer Case
MANUAL Locking Hubs
4.10 differential gear ratio
Locking front and rear differentials
Extreme (4:1) low range transfer case option
Steel low-profile bumpers (max. approach/departure angles)
Bumper-mounted outside spare tire carrier
Rock Rails
Bedliner (i.e., Line-X) interior option (carpet delete)
Drain plugs
Warn winches (8,000 lb to 12,000 lb)
Waterproof seats
Notes:
Many of the off road options could be a result of a partnership with equipment manufacturers (Warn, Detroit, BFG, etc.)
I'd like to see something with more torque in the Small Bronco, such as an inline-6 or a V6 diesel.
