The ac compressiors should be basicly all the same between vans, trucks, and cars.
Not sure how much the compressior holds but each vehicle holds a different amout of refrigerant based off the setup of the ac system. Yours chould hold as little as 1 1/2 lbs or as much as 5 lbs.
If you have a owners manual you might get lucky and have the a/c refrigerant amount listed.
Refrigerant amount will not be in the owners manual, look on the heater box. the amount will change if you have a rear evap. if i remember right, 4lbs,2 oz. if you have rear a/c. that would be about 5 and a half cans. Just a helpful reminder, i see several rear a/c complaints and 90% are due to either dirty evap coils, or s@#t piled in front of the return air inlet.good luck

i just took a look at it says 1.60 kg ( 4.50 lb
with out auxiliary heater so what does that mean in how many can"s would
it take

Not all owner manuals list the freon level for the ac, but some do. Ive seen some ford and some honda manuals that had the freon level listed in the back of the book in the specifications and fluid level section where as others didnt.
Their going to be pushing for that cause basicly all cars you buy new today have R134a and they are listing it so if you want to you can add to the ac system yourself.
Hendel, I think Number is correct. I dont use the small cans so i cant say how many oz`s the small can hold to tell you how many it would take to charge the system up. But since it says 4.50 lbs for R12, I wouldnt go over 3.50 lbs max. So where Number said 1can = 1 lb, then you would basicly need 4 cans but you use all 3 cans and use half of the 4th can. Or you can just use 3 total. 1/2 lb isnt that much in the ac system but its possible it could effect the cooling.
14 oz was sticking in my head but i wasnt sure, i get the big propain style ac tanks.
But I just hope Hendel dosent go and put 4.50 lbs in the ac system unless hes running R12, cause putting R134a at the same poundage as R12 will cause the high side to be way to high and the low side to be high also. Its also very possible of blowing any safety valves if it has it, or blowing the control device (orfice tube, or valve) even is possible that it could blow the evaporator.

WHAT IS A ACCUMULATOR DRIER BOTTLE SHOULD IT BE REUSED
OR REPLAYED
If it has never been replaced than probrobly a good investment. If the system has never been open, or never had a leak, than it should be fine. but if your asking about charging, I would put one in.
