35's and 3.55? need lower ratio?

I have a 93 bronco with 33's. within the next month or so, I will be going up to 35's. I still have the stock 3.55 gears. Do I need a lower gear ratio? I don't tow anything. If I do get new gears, should I go for 4.10 or 4.56?
Thanks

Heck yeah ya need to regear. With the OD of the E4OD, 4.56 is your best bet.

If it's your daily driver and you don't wheel it too hard, then you wouldn't actually "need" gears, as long as you can live with the performance loss. The 4.10's will recoup this, I think the 4.56's would be overkill on the street, and will flat kill your mpg around town.

I have a 93 Bronco with the automatic like yours. I recently made the jump to the 35" tires like you plan to. I have a 6" pro Comp lift and the tires rub badly. I recently lifted the front a little more using a spring spacer, the problem isn't as bad. I don't recomend going to a larger tire size unless you plan on adding fiberglass fenders or a body lift. I had the tires for about a week and then made the move to 4.56 gears. The biggest mistake I have made next to buying a pro comp lift. The truck is fine on the street but when I get on the highway the rpm's are too high. I like to travel at about 75-80 mph. The rpm's run at 3000. Which suck up the gas and cause the water temp to rise, especially when the outside temp is around 90 degrees. If I could do it again I would go with a 4.11 gear. Stay with the 33's and go with the 4.11's

to get a stock feel out of the gears, 3.73 goes with the 33s, and 4.10 goes with the 35s

What Engine/Trans do you have? Is the 3000Rpm in OD at 75 mph.
Also What hits on your truck. I have 35"s on my 94 with only a 4" lift and have no problems.(I had to shim the bumper out a couple of inches)I am currently trying to decide which gears to go with 4.10 0r 4.56 to bad they don't make 4.30 's

35's and 3.55? need lower ratio?

What about if you had 35's and 3.55's and you ONLY 4 Wheel it? Meaning I have a 1986 Beater Bronco that I am looking to break out the sawzall and cut the fenders or anything to clear bigger tires so I can beat this thing....

I am currently plan on installing 33x12.50 R15 Swampers on my 15x8 rims.. After reading this post sounds like I might be able to stuff 35's on there? After all with 4wheel low, I should be able to spin the 35's ok right?

Your thoughts?

Steve,
My thoughts are broken driveshaft, busted universals, broken axles, not necessarily in that order.

Ah.. true... hence the reason why I think I am gonna stay with the 33's.. I will have enough fun with it considering I just installed a Mini-spool in the 9" rear the other day, was actually easy! and the gears messed with a nice pattern after re-installing the diff-carrier.

Also too.. you must note that this 86 bronco honestly weighs a good 500-600 pounds less than because I completely gutted the RUST bucket that it is... no tailgate, no top, no glass in doors, not rear seat, not interior (only 1/2 the dash) gas tank is ABOVE the frame, so I gained some clearance there..

I just want to have fun and TRY not to break anything until I have the cash to fabricate up the Dual Dana 60's I have sitting in the field awaiting $4000 to do it right....

I have the 351 with E40D. The transmission is always in O.D.
The RPM's are at about 2,800 at 75 and 3,100 at 80. I wish I would have gone with the 4.10 gears. I have found a couple of people that have that combo and it seems to work out well. But since that truck had stock 3.73 gears and small tires that jump didn't seem real drastic. The fender wells hit. Right in front of the doors. Not real bad but enough bend the corner of the fender in. I have the pro comp 6" lift with the extended radius arms, and only a four inch lift in the rear. What kind of lift do you have?

Wow those #'s seem really high. Did you recalibrate your speedo maybe your really doing 90. I will probably go with the 4.10's because I can pick up a front carrier with them from a junk yard for $300 that will bolt in. I have the Skyjacker lift with drop brackets. I'd like to get the Extended radius arms in the future.
