I've been building my F350 option list,
I want a regular cab,
and it seems the nav system isn't available.

Can a dealer overide this and special
order a truck with the nav system?

Cab sytle does not make a difference for the NAV system. The only thing that makes a differece is the trim level. You CAN get the NAV on a FX4 or Lariat, but you CANNOT get it on a XL or XLT.

The best way to "build" your truck at home before you go to the dealer is by using a order guide. The order guides can be found at this link.

No, not that I am aware. You might be better off getting an after market nav. like the pioneer avic-z2 which cost about $2000 but it has built in hard drive so you can download music, movies, etc. plus it will do bluetooth. I myself am looking into this unit. I had dealer price the ford nav. thru parts department and they install and it was gonna cost me (I think)$2300 or $2600 for the unit and about another $800 to install. No thanks!

If you want the Ford nav, then you will need to go with the FX4, or Lariat as powerstroke mentioned.

As PowerStrokeHD said, Only available with FX4 or Lariat trim package. Look at the link to the order guide that he posted. Dealer cannot override the order guide, FMC will reject the build of the truck. Here is a quote from the order guide.
"Navigation Radio w/in-dash screen and DVD ROM and
Audiophile 6-Disc CD/MP3 Player (58F/87A) avail. on FX4
and Lariat."
