Official Bubba Report

Hey all, just letting you know that im home safe and sound, just returned a few minutes ago. Truck ran without a speck of a problem, just under 2500 miles. Got to put alot of faces with names from the forums, see some very nice trucks, and see the beuatiful Great Smoky Mountains. Hats off to Mike, Tenn01PSD, for his excellent hospitality and driving out with me. I am officially the first member of Shiny Transmission Pan Club, a joke that Mike started up, he can elaborate on that if he wants

Thanks again for everyone who has helped me out along the way making this an unforgettable experience.

Comments, questions, post away!

Did your dad enjoy himself, too?

What did he think of your "other family"?

Marv, yes i do think he actually enjoyed himself. Sure he didn't have the kind of time i had, he didnt look forward to things like i did. However, seeing me over indulge makes him happy i guess.

Kris, like Pop asked, has your dad voiced any opinions yet of your FTE family?

Not happy with the dyno, but it is what it is. 307hp and 628 on the 120 race tune, first run was best. Looks like i need to get a sink strainer sump

The track was a 1/8 and not a 1/4 like i wanted, but i ran twice, my first ever time at the strip i did a 9.84 but the second time was 10.3 something. Got a great reaction the second time but due to the tunes for just a VB and not the whole trans, the trans wasn't shifting into 2nd like it should on the second run, so i had to pedal it and let out to get it to shift and even into 3rd. Broke the grease fitting on my top left NEW ball joint, and got a nasty squeak when the axle shafts are turned a certain position.

EDIT- My dad said that if the rest of the guys on the internet are half as nice as Mike and his family was, then i am in a great group on FTE, and i agree.

First of all, I think your truck should have definately made more power. I thought about that as I drove home last night. I know we talked about boost but now I'm thinking it may be fuel, and not a sink strainer either. We can talk about that later. Or the guy on the dyno did something different. We cannot control that. I did tell him to make better numbers than yours even if he has to break the thing.

Dad probably knows most here don't drink as much beer as I do but I am on a mini vacation. BTW, Kris' dad's a real cool, easy going easy to get along with guy. Lucky fella.

This is a pic I will post of a guy from New Jersey's truck on the dyno. That is Dianne of DP fare in the right foreground. Pic courtesy of earnesteugene since my dumb **** left my camera at home. Probably good for one or two pics anyway. I'm anxiously awaiting pics from either Kris or Chris/Rampage.

Edit: that was the truck I spilled the beer in right Kris?

Yeah I guess I missed it but I was well on my way, and would have been feeling it today too. I saw that bonfire get started and realized if I didn't get going I wasn't going to make it, not even back to the lodge and the truck woulda spent the night at the campground again. BTW, thanks for the parking and beer Gene.

Glad you made it home safe Kris. It was nice to see you and your dad again. I wish I could have made the trip on to Smokin with you. It certianly would have been more fun than the work I had to come home to.

Edit: I just checked my dyno numbers and 1/8 mile timeslips. They are very similar to yours. Dyno was about the same, 1/8 mile times were about a 10th better.
