Ethanol conversion 351w
351w to run on ethanol E-85?
Reading an article on ethanol on standard engines, non Flex fuel type engines states that most fuel injected engines since 1988 have a tolerance to use just 10% ethanol. Reason is that ethanol is corrosive to aluminum, magnesium and most gasket materials rubber, fibre and plastics.
I have been hunting for a fuel conversion kit for ethanol and found one called Flextek. There's a Youtube video about it here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2l3KbBV5qks
Does anyone have any experience with conversion of a 351w to use ethanol w/o harm to life of the engine? They claim to have sold over 50,000 units in the US.
Questions comments on Flextek?
http://flextek.com/faq.htm
Are there any competitors to Flextek?

the alcahol is very corrosive to alluminum , rubber , gasket's,+ other metal's it will etch , so you end up changing alot of component's that you would'nt think you would have to! (pump's, stainless line's,etc) i did alot of research on alternative fuel's, even bought plan's for a still online,+ looked into making bio-deisel, its gonna be great when they make it affordable enough for the average person to do. good luck to you i hope you can pull it off
