Cutting a Stock Muffler off an '06

I have a '06 Supercab. I ordered a Big Truck Muffler and was going to install it until I crawled underneath. The directions I saw online apparently aren't for an '06. My muffler has two hangers attached at the back of the muffler. The pipe at the front of the muffler that I'm supposed to rotate also has a hanger.

The way the bracket hangers are attached, I don't think it will be easy to remove the muffler without cutting the hangers off and muffler from the exhaust pipe. So, I'm wondering, Should I just cut the hangers off and weld them back together if necessary to put them back on the pipe and new muffler?

Also, any hints on making it the easiest to remove the hangers from the rubber at the top of the hanger would be appreciated, too.

just cut off the muffler in the front leaving as much pipe as possible and cut off the hangers. If your new muffler is straight through, you will have to rotate the piece in front of the muffler so it is up and weld the hanger back on. It is a peice of cake. Did mine to a straight pipe in about an hour. Hope yours goes as smoothly as mine did!

It should look close to this when you are done. Cut the front hanger where the weld starts on the pipe. I only have one hanger used in the rear with no problems.
