F350 Amarillo Edition

I've been looking at an '06 Amarillo Edition F350 PSD mint loaded with 56K miles on it. It is an amazing truck. I think the yellow and black look great. The only problem is the dealer won't budge off the $41K asking price. Is it just me or is that little high? I might be wrong. Anybody here have an Amarillo Edition. How hard is the yellow to keep clean? It would be worth it IMO.

Once you find a vehicle that you are interested in, I recommend the following.

Log onto KBB.com (Kelly Blue Book) and punch in the info for the truck you are looking at. You’ll get three options:
- Suggested Trade In
- Suggested Retail
- Suggested Private Seller

The Suggested Trade In is what a dealer would in theory pay for a truck if it’s used as a trade in. Look at this figure as “dealer buy price”…what they would pay for it.

The Suggested Retail is what the dealer is probably asking for the truck…it should be close to what you’ve been quoted or shown as the asking price.

The Suggested Private Seller is what somebody off the street could expect to ask for the truck. Remember with a private seller; no warranty…no service after the sale…etc, etc, etc.

Now, in theory, you want to pay as close to Trade in as possible…in some cases it could be less. When I bought my King Ranch in Feb 07, the dealer was asking almost 4K above trade in… Because I had run the numbers through KBB, I know this price was high and started working on the salesman. I wound up paying much less than what they started asking for the truck. .I later got to talk to the previous owner and found out that I paid $200 above what they gave him for the trade in….so in theory I got a great deal…the dealership supposedly made $200 on the truck when they sold it to me.

Good Luck…let us know how you made out!

By the way, I have a friend who bought his 'big yella truck' new a few months back and he loves it.

I know all about KBB, but it sometimes is not 100% accurate. I couldn't find the Amarillo Package under the options. I just put in all the info and options I know it has.

The Amarillo package is close to a King Ranch package...just doesn't have the leather seats.

It might not help that the Amarillo package was a limited option also, dont know how many trucks they made with the Am package but Dealers also take availability into considerration when they price them. I had the same questions about a Platinum Edition SD that had 100K and they were asking $38K and it was a 2001 and this was about 6months ago. And as far a cleaning the yellow is concerned I think its easy except for road tar getting kicked up by the tires.

Talking

I have a 2006 Amarillo and wouldn't let it go for no less than 49000 but I have quiet a few nickels invested in mine. And far as your keeping clean question it is by far the easiest vehicle I have ever had and I have had about every color and when its nasty it stil looks clean.

41K does seem a bit too high. 35-38 would be more like it for a 2006 with those miles. I just purchased a 2007 King ranch F250 PSD CC/SB FX4, with every conceivable option, 9,700 miles on the odo, perfect condition, for 43.

I have a 05 Amarillo edition and it has black leather seats. The yellow is extremely easy to keep clean and hides nicks and scratches very well.

Yeah, I think I'm going to offer them $34K and see where it goes from there. I'd like to see it around $35,500 tops.

Looking at a 06 Amarillo Edition F350

Hey yalls.

Im looking at getting my first big truck and been looking at this Used 2006 Amarillo edition F 350. I was interested for a couple reasons. Maiy as a daily and for show in my car crew as well as towing horses. I am a previous Ford owner of different kinds but bever anytbing this big. Ive heard these trucks are a bit more hard to come by and seeing this has the leather package and lift I feel its a steal at the $23k asking price but then again i have no clue.

Any advice or suggestions as to what to look for when testing it out or over looking the whole truck would be great. Has about 96k miles. Super clean inside and out 10/10! Located in Gilroy Ca.here are some pics and specs of the truck im lookin at!

Thanks yall!
