Anyone Tell Me Where This Vacuum Line Connects (2004 5.4 3V)?

Where Does This Vacuum Line Connect (2004 5.4 3V)?
I noticed this vacuum connection hanging loose. I've looked and looked and can not see where it connects. Thought maybe you guys can help.
I've attached some pictures. One from my truck showing the actual vacuum line. The other two from my manual showing what vacuum line I'm talking about.
My truck is running fine. No issues, but this is really bugging me that I can't find where this is supposed to connect.
Though maybe someone would take a minute and look on there truck and let me know where this vacuum line connects.
Thanks in advance.

It looks like a factory "stopper" plug? So maybe it lays loose?

99Trigger3_0,

I appreciate the reply.
Well, I guess its supposed to be loose...

Any difference between the 4.6L vs 5.4L on exactly where the vacuum line is routed?

Vac Plug

I ve an 04xlt also. I have the exact same line and it is pluged off just like yours. Glad you posted though, Ive been wondering about mine. I know mine came from the factory like this and you having the same, just confirms that. Mine just lays loose. The line is sorta molded to certian shape like its meant to be routed somewhere. But it just lays there. I guess we shouldnt worry about it. I think its probably for an option that our trucks dont have.

vac line possibilty

Hey mabe its to add vac for trailer brakes. When I get time I will try to chase it to the other end. Maybe it ends under the dash and plugs off there. Dont know, just guessing.

Are all your trucks 2 wheel drive?
That vacuum line is for the vacuum operated hubs on 4x4s.

Ohboy44,
Yes, my truck is a 2wd.
Thanks for the information on the vacuum line.
My Haynes manual talked about disconnecting this vaccum line during disassebly of the intake manifold...it said "if applicable"....this makes since now that I know its for the vacuum operated hubs on 4x4's.
