timing problem and engine noise
hello ,hey i have a question, i just tuned up my 1988 bronco,new wires,plugs ,cap, rotor, all filters , new tps sensor,new air by pass sensor ,,,,when i checked the timing it was a 7degrees,so i set it back to factory timing which is 10 degrees, now since i set back to factory i have this slight engine noise at bottom end ,,,, my question before i reset the timing i never had this noise ,should i back off of the timing slightly/ any help will be apreciated

Hey, when I timed my 89XLT, 302, There's a little a plug on the end of a wire next to you ac compressorand your throttle body. It kind of looks like it does nothing. You need to unplug this when you do you initial timing. When your done, this plug or "pip" will advance your timimg 1 degree I think. Make sure you pull out that plug when you do your timing.
