Thanks to Grigg, my problem with needing to find one-piece wheels is over (thanks, thanks, thanks, Grigg!). And while trying to find some new 8R17.5LT tires for those wheels Grigg helped me out with, I came across a fellow who had two brand-new Bridgestone 8R17.5LT tires for sale on Craigslist out of Washington, DC that were already mounted on 1966 F350 dually wheels, and so I'm the owner of them now too. So I'll soon be able to hit the road, that is just as soon as I get new tires mounted on those wheels Grigg parted with. Oh, and thanks, Ford-Trucks dot com, for helping me out through your providing this board too.

As for my old wheels with the not so weather-checked tubed-tires on them, for now I'll be holding on to them so that if I find a decent parts-truck that I'll have something to roll it home on.

Anyway, now it's time for me to pay attention here about the rest of things, and time to re-learn a bit about carpentry so that I can refresh the tired interior of my 1962 Ford Class-C motorhome so that it's a decent romance-setting once again (my wife is hunkered over some graph paper coming up with her ideas of an acceptable floorplan (for her) even as I write this...oh, and she says thanks too, Grigg).

I have a 61 f350 with a set of seven of the six lug 17.5" wheels and six radial 8R17.5 tires, and one bias ply tire.
I am currently swapping newer axles with disc brakes under the truck, and won't need my old axles or wheels and tires. I have worked out a trade with the yard I got my new axles from to give them my old stuff. If you guys are interested in offering more than the yard for them them I will pay cash instead of trade and you can have the wheels and good tires.
On this link there should be some pictures of my truck with the wheels in question.

Last persons asking this purchased a NEW set from Stocton Wheel In Cali.

Give them a call and they can send you NEW DOT certified wheels to replace the old split rim mankillers.

Well, best laid plans of mice and men being what they are, my wife told me my old wheels have to go. I sent r0b333 an e-mail giving him first dibbs, seeing as how he did mention his New Hampshire salted roads have made such a mess of his current wheels, I still haven't heard back, but I would still like to give him first dibbs. Anyway,

I'm in Phoenix, Arizona, about a mile north of the state capital building. My home is so close to the northeast corner of the intersections of I-10 and I-17 that I can see it from my backyard. I have seven wheels with bias ply tires which all have good tubes in them, and all of the tread on all of the tires looks great. My interpretation of the date stamps on the tires is that they are between ten and twenty years old, but the sides all look pretty-much crack-free. And I am willing to give these wheels up for free to someone who needs them (not for resale, but to use). If you're interested, e-mail me at desertbus@hotmail.com (r0b333 still has first dibbs, that is if he sends me an e-mail that says he wants them sometime in the near future).

Wishing everybody well, desertbus sends...

Still no word from r0b333.

I forgot to mention that they are genuine Arizona rust-free dually wheels, all seven of them, and are 6 on 7.25, which I believe fits 1961 through 1966 F-350 duallys. And, of course, like I shared before, they're free to a good home, er, I mean free to a good Ford truck. Pick-up is perferred, but I am willing to go out of my way to ship them if the donee is willing to pay the cost of shipping and supplies (they'll probably need to be individually crated with plywood and shipped via UPS...my guestimate would be $75.00 a wheel to the east coast from Phoenix...maybe more though). But if you're going to be passing through Phoenix, or have a friend who's going to be passing through here, my house is so close to the intersection of I-10 and I-17 (called "The Stack" here in Phoenix) that I can hear from my backyard the Jake Breakers slowing down as they transition from I-10 westbound to I-17 northbound on their way towards Flagstaff, so getting to my house from the interstate and then back onto the interstate would be nothing but quick and easy. Let me know if you're interested. ... desertbus sends... ( desertbus@hotmail.com )

Bump. Those seven rust-free lock-ring, 6 on 7.25 dually wheels are still available, for free. They have tires on them that have good tubes in them, and are all with good tread. The boss (my wife) says that they've got to go. For the specifics, see my two posts just before this one for the details. They're free.

Wishing everybody a fantastic Friday the 13th (I always make sure to buy a lottery ticket on Friday the 13th), desertbus sends... ( desertbus@hotmail.com )

Exclamation Condor

I dont know about his Condor but mine is a 1973 Condor Thunderbird. It sits on an m504 chassis and has a 390cid engine with a c6 tranny. I have as of yet been unable to find any literature or online resources for service and parts. We have been using a f350 for that year as a guideline for parts. I have the manual from condor but not the one from ford which I need. Even the vin number doesnt match anything. Its 11 digits as follows: m50hvr1xxxx. Does any one know whether or not ford made this setup for any other trucks or buses? that would give us something to go by at least.

Welcome to FTE

Ford made their own M Series Motorhome from 1973/79.

All Ford truck VIN numbers are 11 digits thru 1980, 17 digits after.

M50 = M500

H = 390 2V

V = Louisville, Kentucky Ford Truck Assembly Plant

R1XXXX = 1973 (1973 serial number range for: F100/500; E100/350; M450/600: from Q00,000 thru S60,001)

Need a parts catalog? No problemo. The parts are all listed in the: 1973/79 Ford LIGHT Truck Parts Catalog (listed throughout under the M code), and this catalog is available from hipoparts.com on a CD. In the last pages of part two of this catalog, you will even find the make/type of appliances used (by Ford/Condor), and part numbers for various other items.

If you have any parts questions/needs, feel free to ask.

Literature, shop manuals, sales brochures, etc., try: faxonautolit.com.

I'm also a U.S. military veteran (United States Coast Guard, 1975-1983...I was a Hospital Corpsman First Class), and I would describe myself as being a patriot. As for the origin of my screen name, I live in Arizona, I have two split-window Volkswagen buses I've owned for nearly twenty years now which have been outfitted for dealing with our Arizona desert environs, and so some time ago I chose to start calling myself in various internet forums "desertbus". A friend of mine calls himself "rustybus" (he has a bumper sticker on his VW bus that says, "Honk If Anything Falls Off"), and another friend of mine calls himself "rattlebus" (not to be confused with rattlesnakes, which are thick as molasses out here in the Arizona desert at certain times of the year). But my daily driver and tow-vehicle for any broken-down VW buses since 1982 has been a 1972 Ford Galaxie Custom, and prior to that my daily drivers were a 1970 E-300 and a 1970 F-100, so I'm really a Ford guy who also owns a couple of German breadboxes on wheels. And last week, just last week, I finally found the Ford of my dreams, a truck I've been searching for for many a year now, a truly rust-free 1962 F350 Ford Class C mini-motorhome complete with a toilet, a shower, a kitchen, and lots of room in it for romancing my wife, and so I am wanting to find some one-piece wheels for it so I can get rid of those old and oddball-sized 7.50-16LT bias-ply tires that are currently on it (Cooper makes a radial in that size, but I still want one-piece wheels that any tire outlet on any highway will service...most tire outlets I've talked to about my current split-rim wheels almost laugh when I ask if they service split-rim wheels, saying things like, "Those things will blow your head clean off!").
You're funny, Paleface!
Rest assured that you haven't offended my Native American blood.

Bill Thanks a lot. Went to the web sites and found some useful stuff. I am going to order the shop manual and the parts catalog. Will the auto parts stores be able to use these original part numbers to match them up?

I know NAPA can cross them over, and you can also use FTE sponsor Direct Ford Parts online parts locator to see if the parts are still available from Ford (buy from them, you get a discount). The link is on the forum main page. Type the part numbers into their site without hyphens or spaces, like this: d3tz16005a. Same thing holds true for FTE sponsor Green Sales' online locator, Green sells Ford obsolete parts.

When you order the parts catalog, make sure it's the 1973/79 LIGHT truck parts catalog, you do not want the heavy truck catalog.

16" mankillers

hey guys, about those dually six lugs...
i just came across a guy in my area last month who sold me four 16" split rims with the 6 lug pattern. He had a fair amount of information about the wheels, he says the 60's International One Ton's, 60's Dodge D300's, late 50's Dodge Power Wagons, and Kaiser M715's all had the 6 lug wheels.
Here check out this site for power wagons, the galleries for the W100's have a lot of pictures of those 6 lug wheels. http://www.townwagon.com/ then click on the Power Giant Town Wagons, this will show you all the power wagons with 6 lugs. I was also in contact with a guy from Stockton Wheel last winter when i was looking for wheels, he said the price for a 6 vent 6 lug steel one piece wheel was $250 each, just to give you a heads up, you're looking at right around $1800 for 6 wheels on the truck and a spare, not to mention shipping.... that's all my info guys...you got anything else, give me a heads up, thank you

What year of axles are you swapping too? Is it a straight axle front end?
Thank you,

little late now, and probably not what you had in mind..
But straight axles, the axles I swapped were from a 2005 Freightliner for the rear, and a 90's Chevy Topkick for the front.
