exhaust leak by manifold will not seal
I've been struggling with a minor exhaust leak on my drivers side manifold. It is not the manifold but the connection of the manifold to the crossover pipe.
I was able to drill out the rusty studs and swaped them with standard bolts. They kept snapping with the torque from tightening. I then bought some Grade 8 bolts and they held. However, there is still a small gap that continues to leak and it is loud on acceleration
On my headers for my Chevelle, I put some "Donut" gaskets in there which helped. I can't seem to create a big enough gap when the bolts are removed to insert a gasket.
I tried to losen the system up down the way, but it is fused together and would create more problems.
Any other tricks in your toolboxes??????
