fuel Pressure

fuel Pressure
Hello, I am new to this forum.
I usually watch the OBS '94-'97 PSD forum.
I just switched over to WVO and I am having problems with fuel pressure.
When on WVO my truck coughs and chokes after a bit of time of being on it.
When on diesel it will run but when you put it under a load it will strain a bit.
I can also hear clicking and my pressure with a tire gauge is 37 psi at the schrader valve.
My plan is to clean out the FPR and see how it did. I just replaced the stock fuel filter and my big filter to a 2 micron filter which is filtering my veggie.
thanks,
Fletch

I have 102K miles on it. I am going to check fuel restriction on the fuel lines, Veggie and Dino. I also have a Racor filter with 2 micron capability. I am running the Golden Fuel Systems Nomad system.
Yea, I heard that 37psi wasn't enough.
I am going to check to make sure that their isn't a restriction on the lines then I am going to replace the fuel pump.
Any other ideas?

I know some guys are using a VW (I think Jetta) pump, but I'll have no such nonsense on my truck (no offense kwik hehe) I am assuming any pump capable of supplying at least 20 psi would be a good prepump- you just gotta get one with enough volume to keep up with the stock pump.
If I'm wrong on this one, someone please let me know...

Well the stock pump has been changed and all is well now. I am back to burning veggie. I just wonder if it was coincidience that the stock pump went out a week after burning veggie?
If you don't think it is then what should I do to prevent this from happening again besides filtering which I do already. I have an electric pump pushing from the veggie tank.

Flea- I'm not familiar with the nomad system, but I can say that the stock lift pump is not designed to handle the additional strain of the thicker viscosity oil when you throw wvo through it, no matter how many pre-pumps you use. A pre-pump will only prolong the inevitable. In your case, your lift pump if stock, is already 11 years old, kinda on it's last leg. You need to do a search for a FASS WVO pump. I think the cheapest I've seen it online was for about $300, which is up to $200 CHEAPER than some wvo websites.
