best year powerstroke?

first post here, but have been browsing for a while.

im planning on picking up a SD sometime with the PSD and dont know which one is going to be the most reliable to me. i plan on either setting up a two tank system to run WVO or possibly just run biodiesel in it, so keep that in mind.

I'm partial to 2000's and early 2001's with forged steel connecting rods. Powdered metal rods give me the creeps in a diesel.

Personally i would have to say any 7.3 Powerstroke. From 95 all the to 2003, they were a very solid and reliable motor.

late model 7.3 2000-2003 or the late model 6.0 2006-2007... Or wait for the later model 6.4 in a couple of years... I love my 2006...

stick with bio but remember Ford only certifies B5 any higher & you could have warranty issues.

If you want to run B100 it's safer to limit your purchases to the 7.3 and earlier trucks from what I have heard.

oopp's sorry I guess I did'nt read it very well, Kwik is correct if you plan on running B-100 the pre 2003 7.3 liter is the way to go, 2000 or 2001 have what I belive to be the strongest bottom ends (wich is very important when running a potentialy higher energy content than petrol based fuel) I kmow many people are running these trucks on straight Bio & having excellent results. Just remember filtration, filtration & more filtration!
