Cool Fords CEO gets $25 million in bonus

We better all go out and buy a new Super Duty to help FORD out. They are loosing millions and paying out millions in bonuses. That type of stuff pisses me off. I don't buy at HOME DEPOT because of that same thing. Maybe I'll look to Toyota at least they don't rub my nose in the way they pay CEO's. I'm a supporter of this forum until the forum CEO starts getting crazy salaries & bonuses.

While I don't think anyone "needs" 25million... I will reserve my judgement as to whether he is actually worth it for another 18months or so.

So far the Ford family has lost 541 million dollars due to the drop in their stock value, and they still claim to believe in Bill Fords leadership. Well, Bill Ford as chairman of the Board had to authorize this payout...to himself, which is unreal. Isn't he still considered CEO? Mulally is only the president. Why would Ford take this kind of money after the company put up their entire assets for working capital? The idiots have taken possession of the asylum.

What's the big deal? It's a private company. They can do and pay anyone whatever the hell they want! ...at their own peril sometimes.

It's not like they're taxing you! Now that's a can o' worms right there.

Ford isn't a private company. They went public for the first time ever in 1956 to raise capital for the Edsel and other projects. The Ford family retains 40% of all the stock.

Post #3..I wasn't aware that Mulally was CEO also. Still, paying the newbie that kind of money tells ppl that Ford must be rolling in dough. I wonder what the ppl in Atlanta and other Ford plants that lost their jobs recently think of what Mulally was paid?

Mulally, was paid $25 million for 4 months of work. I thought they said he was CEO. This was on ABC News last night. My anger about it is Ford closed several plants, laid off several thousand workers, and IMO $25 million dollars could of been used to keep JOBS IN THE USA. I have a hard time spending my HARD earned money with a company that rubs my nose in how many millions they pay their CEO. or what ever he is. When I have a choice. NOBODY IS WORTH THAT KIND OF PAY PERIOD. Not when American jobs are going overseas. so these guys can get even bigger pay checks & bonuses.

Good luck buddy, I've been raked over the coals for years for having basically the same attitude.

Oh, I'll still buy a Ford if it's what I want, but not for some pseudo-patriotic reason.

How do you buy stock in a "private company"???

My understanding is the Ford family still owns the majority of shares....but it's still a publicly traded company.

What I meant by "private" was that it doesn't derive it's income from tax. It is a company that peddles a product for a profit.

For those of you who don't agree with Ford's position on CEO compensation I suggest you buy a lot of Ford stock so that you can become one who has a say in it.

yea, and make sure you don't vote in someone that will cater to ford when the time comes they need help from the government for a bail out. and make sure if you live in an area that has ford related products and manufactoring to not to vote in people that will want to give them any tax breaks or concessions. after all, they got plenty of money to throw around it seems.

I've bought my last new Ford. I may and probably will buy a used Ranger in the next year. But most likely not from a Ford dealer. I also have been raked over the coals most of my life because of my attitude about things I don't like. I'm close to 60 years old. So who cares today. Maybe you & I can influence some others along the way. I'm glad I'm not the only one on this forum who have what some call bad attitudes at times.
