You have to remove the cab to remove the motor? Man remind me to not buy that model & year. $17,000 to replace the engine. Let's see $55,000 + $17,000 = $72,000 F350. You could buy 2 of any truck for that money. I hate to say it but I'll keep my 86 F250 4x4 460, C-6 and smile with 6-7 MPG towing 10,000# & 10.5 MPG empty. Even if gas gets to $6/gal.

Show me the proof any of this happened. Who was the original selling dealer? What was the name of the service manager? What was the name of the Ford Representative? What's the warranty claim number? And most important...what is the VIN? Ford flew a rep out there? LOL...C'mon, that's suspicious right there, knowing how Ford operates.
First, the local Ford District Office would have to become involved, and the local office is where the Ford Parts and Service reps are located. They themselves would have to be the ones to contact Dearborn, not the selling dealer. They authorize any and all repairs. Flying a rep out to inspect one claim? That's handled by the District Office. The whole article smells bad. There's not one shred of proof, just a bunch of caca del toro...heresay.
Any and all of these facts should have been listed. They are not. This looks like another attempt to kick Ford when it's down. Autoblog isn't an official sanctioned auto industry site. Anyone can go there and post anything.
