air bag is flashing code 47 on ford ranger 2002 what is the problem

 

The passenger's side seat belt pre-tensioner showing high/low resistense.

 

high this under the seat correct

 

is this expensive to fix does it cause the airbag not to work in an accident

 

It better not!!!! I would think that Ford would be sticking their collective necks way out to think that a misfunctioning seat belt pretensioner would disable the airbag. The airbag light is simply flashing a code that there's a problem with the seatbelt system which is the primary restraint system. If your airbag was faulty, the appropriate code would flash, darn If I know what it would be. As for cost, at worst, you may have to replace the pretensioner, but check the electrical connections.
