What's up with DODGE and GM

no worries level2, i was brought up to say stuff properly when it came to engines so its kind of annoying for me to, especially when a guy claims to have on and still spells it wrong, but my grandma also always calls a place bride creek when its bragg creek, then she says she can't say bragg, but she has no problem saying brag haha

I think all the big 3 have some decent engines in their trucks. The 7.3 PSD will always be my favorite...not that it doesn't have some problems of its own but still a very reliable engine. I've heard a few bad things about the early Duramax engines like the crank busting but the thing I dont care for is the iron block and aluminum heads...the heads should be iron in my opinion and Lord know that the old 5.9L Cummins can run for ever and make a ton of power. I don't know a lot about the 6.0L PSD but when I was a salesman at a KC metro dealer I saw a lot of them come in for repairs. I know a lot was either with the turbo or injectors but my brother in law has an 04 F250 CC PSD Lariat and it is completely stock and he burned a hole in one of the pistons at about 62K miles so that didn't impress me any. One of my friends at the dealership sold a brand new 05 to a guy that was an over the road truck driver and lived in Denver and my buddy agreed to deliver the truck to this guys house for extra money and catch a ride back with him in his semi but my friend made it about half way across Kansas and the tranny blew out....not that that had anything to do with the engine but still sucks. I'm just gonna stick with my 7.3 PSD untill it just lays down and dies.

I never had a problem with the heads in my dmax but it did blow several sets of injectors (no it was not chipped). They were covered under warranty. Personnally I liked the dmax and Allison, but I was not fond of the rest of the truck. The only other problem I ever had with it was it would get REALLY hot going up a hill with even a small load on it.

Never had an injector issue (knock on wood) been modded since about 5k miles. Still got about 66k miles left on the 200k mile warrenty on those things before I get serious about a new truck
If I could get a dmax w/ an Allison in a Super Duty I'd take it. Don't know why there can't be the perfect truck out there.
