Hence my suggestion on a bolt that is 9/16 longer than stock.

I just ordered the cover....due in tomorrow. The parts man said it likely uses the same hardware.

Maybe a nice set of stainless would look better than factory black bolts. Before I take mine apart...does anyone know the thread size/pitch and length so that maybe I could find some cool allen head bolts or something?

(Why is Ford's part system so difficult for the countermen to find stuff???) (I guess that is like death and taxes....)

I Think you Counterman is just not a very good one. Took me all but 1 minute to find the right number and 1 more minutes to see that it was nationial depo about to be placed on back order.

Is is really necessary to get the ford bolts? I bet a hardware store would have stainless ones for about $1.20 a piece + shipping, which was how much ford wants for theirs.

ForemanES I see no need to get ford bolts. I will be pulling one bolt off my truck tomorrow to check the length and thread so i will let you all know if they are long enough and if not what you need.

I will also post pics in my wedshots of my cover that I got today. It looks really nice Especially for $33.98 delivered via my friendly Parts counter. List price was $44 something. But a very nice looking cover. There is a grove in it but its not for an o-ring. its not deep enough. its simply for silicone

Thumbs up

This definately looks like the best deal going. The gear oil will cost more than the cover! It looks like that thing was set up for an O-ring, anyone know if there's a part number for the gasket(O-ring)?

I would be very surprised if the bolts were not metric. I just got all the parts for a V-B spring swap and rear sway bar addition and all the fasteners were metric.

We do need to research this for the DRW guys. If it doesn't get posted up I'm heading out today to see what I can find on the DRW trucks.

Beat you to it my friend. turns out that there is not one for the DRW trucks. They are using hte Same cover as last year. So to all our friends with DRW, We are sorry, you just can't get cool Diff covers like us SRW Guys (for as little $ as us anyway)

Doesn't the "TOW BOSS" package have the same style cover with the raised fins in aluminum?
I couldn't find any details in the order guides but I'm certian the rear diffs have a cover like the one we are buying. Since the "Tow Boss" is only found on DRW trucks there has to be an owner that can check for us.
That would be the way to go, but I wouldn't think the cost is going to be cheap.
