I recently did some work on my 04 f150. Now I'm blowing the #2, #10, and #24 fuses. What would cause these fuses to blow? I may have split a wire in the kick panels but I don't know? ANY HELP PLEASE?!?!
if the split wire is touching metal that would blow a fuse. what work did you do?? fuses blown for two reason over current and grounding. i don't have a wiring diagram in front of me but it sound like the common to those three fuses is grounded.
I installed a new stereo. New head unit, new speakers, amps and subs. But the stereo is still working, and working very well. If the stereo was the problem then it wouldn't work. So there must be some other issue. The only common of the three to my knowledge are rear brake lights.... as far as I know.
The last one I had that had all kinds of screwy lighting problems was the installer ran a screw under the dash to mount the subwoofer control **** and ran it through the wiring harness.
no new screws where put into the dash. We used a wire harness to connect to the factory plug. It is possible that we hit the harness behind the seats, but that harness only goes to the seats.... right?
here is the issue, I have no tunr signal, no hazzards, no brake lights no unlock, and power rearview mirror is not working and the airbag light has come on. Could all this be connected to the wire harness behind the seat?
Your blown fuses are related to the lighting circuits so I would check the lighting circuit wiring at the stereo to start with. Disconnect stuff till you isolate the location of the short. Its the only way. You can guess all night.
Does anyone have any idea what wire(s) would make those fuses blow? Like I say I think the only common of them is brake lights but there may be others.
i agree with homer. check everywhere you have been. like where the power wire goes thru the firewall....where the amps are mounted....where wires are run...etc. retrace all your steps.
