i have the same truck and i regularly get 16. what you can do is

1. CHECK YOUR TIRES
2. NEW AIR FILTER
3. NEW PLUGS / WIRES
4. CLEAN MAF SENSOR
5. BOLT A BLOCK OF WOOD BEHIND PEDAL

I'm from central MA.

One thing that kicks the schnitzel out of gas mileage is idling.

Say, during the morning are you letting the truck run for extended amounts of time to help defrost the windshield and other glass?

With the more wild weather lately, my mileage went up a few MPG after I stopped doing this.

Other than this, check the above to be sure the truck is in-tune.

Getting any check engine lights?

i'm also in MA and with the last tank i have noticed what seems to be a significant increase in mpg's. i was getting 20mpg's more or less with 50/50 hwy/cty driving.
since i haven't touched the engine or changed driving habits at all, i'm putting it down to a changeover to summer gas and higher temps.
