INFO wanted: Rexhall Aerbus/FORD F53 chassis

-Especially if anyone has or knows of a chassis wiring diagram.

For the second time, I've been fighting a war with one of these anti-maintenance friendly roach coaches. It's high time I built an intelligence file on them!

Much of the front end wiring is similar to full size pickup and van wiring, but then there have been a few odd curves - like a leveling jack panel that had the starter relay signal sent directly to it from the key switch.

I'm inclined to say that if you find a good deal for one of these - it ain't as good a deal as it appears to be.

These chassis were used on a few coaches, but AERBUS is one that takes the cake for making things difficult to get at for repairs.

(Yeah I know - "Poor Wolfie" and stuff... )

Oh there IS a series of wiring diagrams out there. I found it on EBAY or AVALON or somewhere. For a mere $124 I can have it too.

It covers a lot of older yearmodels, and is going to be useful for about another ten years I reckon. After that you would call a fumigator if one of them showed up at your place...

The current one I am dealing with has ants coming out of the walls!

DATA:

F53 is a front engine chassis intended for RV's, typical engine is big block 460. Fuel injected at least as far back as 1994 that I know of.

Some were eight wheel - 2 front, a dually axle, and 2 trailing for greater load handling.

Decking and walls are over one inch thick, normally press-board. Exterior walls and roof are fiberglass clad.

ROOF air is twin units, non ducted, I can't swear they are Dometic.

The shore power line is thirty amp in what I have seen so far.

You don't want to have to pull out the rear dinette bench in a 1998 model - cables go through it.

Windshield seals will go bad at around ten years if neglected.

The STANDOUT bad feature of the 1994 model 8-wheel was that the hinges for all exterior compartments were coming apart.
