Doug Herbert cams and lifters

I cam across these Doug Herbert solid roller cams and lifters and was wondering if these things are any good.

it depends on the cam specs and your application... if the specs match your combo theyll be fine, if they dont youll be very disappointed... also since its a solid roller, youll need good springs, and make sure you keep the lash in spec

also if your going solid roller, usually the lifts are higher, and the ramp rates are always faster than a flat tappet cam so make double sure you do a piston to valve clearence check with clay, and I really suggest doing it on all pistons unless you have massive amounts of clearence.
Oh and don't use cheap rockers either, they can't take the spring preasures required for a solid roller cam, my closed preasure is higher than some peoples open preasures on a flat tappet, and I run over 800lbs of open preasure if that gives you and idea.

don't know about their cams but if it is going to be street driven at all i would get a better lifter with pin oiling like the new comps.i had a set of the herbert lifters and chowed one, needle material went thru the mains and had to the crank turned and a new cam.bummer.
