1994, 351 wet plugs
Wet may not be accurate, They were not ash reddish like all 4 of the plugs on the driver's side.... This happens to be same side I'm getting the ticking or tapping.... at first start up in the morning, when she's warmed up, and throughout the day.... no change. Why is this happening, what are possibilities.
I changed the plug and wires.... put 4 bosh platnums X2's in.... and 4 Car Quest wires.... I have not checked them since.
Friend of mine says it's a bad lifter, that can be fix without pulling the head?
I've been checking the oil.... everyday over the 200 mi and she's not burning oil. I believe '94 351s come with roller rockers, what are pros/cons of having these? If they're in there.
I'm catching the check engine light the first time I go from start to over 45 MPH, the light remains on until I turn off the engine and restart.... and take her up to 45 again.

ok... first things first... if its a bad lifter then you pull the intake off and the valve cover off, pull off the rocker arm, pull the pushrod, and use a magnetic pickup tool to pull the lifter out... get a new lifter, and reverse steps for install
next... roller rockers are good because they reduce friction and therefore wear, and also increase power because it isnt lost to the friction that would normally be there
next, my guess on your check engine light is the overdrive solenoid on the transmission.. i think that a 1994 has an early computer controlled tranny... but again thats just a guess because its the only thing i can think of off the top of my head that would be speed related

The scheck engine light could be a lean code or EGR code. Have it scanned. AutoZone does it free. Does the OD light flash on the shifter?

Also, this truck sat up for two years and has over 200K on it. We've changed the EGR (brand new).... We haven't touched the 02 sensor. This could be the problem? Is there a brand of 02 better suited for the '94 351?
Thanks

Truck sat up for two years + 200K miles + flat tappet cam (like LXman said, you don't have roller rockers and likely you have flat tappets not roller) = time to rebuild it. Easy way to check to see if it's got a roller cam is to pull one valve cover, one rocker, remove the pushrod and measure it. The roller pushrods are 7.54" long. Flat tappet rods are around 8.15-8.20"
