1979 Bronco 400 2bbl Motorcraft carb power valve
I'm having some problems with a buddys 1979 Bronco with a 400,Motorcraft stock 2bbl carb. Runs a little rough on idle and have to feather it as you accelerate, seems to run well at freeway speeds.Scoped the motor and all looks good electrically but replaced plugs, cap, rotor anyway. I'm not familiar with this carb, does it use a power valve. Also I can't locate the carb number to save my life. I have checked the air horn area with a magnifying glass and nothing. Of course the tag is missing. Any help appreciated..........

It does have a power valve. It's on the bottom of the carb under a small square cover with four screws. I would also replace the accelerator pump while you are at it. It's under the the small square cover on the front of the carb with a lever coming out of it.
