Outside truck temp. gauge ??

When I replaced my brakes I also disconnected the battery thinking it would reset the brain. Well now the outside temperature reads between 94 to 105 deg. It is only 55 to 65 degrees. Is there a way to recalibrate that thermistate? I tried the trip calibration but it only effects the gps. I wanted to reset the brain because the pedal responce seems to be poor. It might just be a timeing issue. Thanks for your input.

O= outside
A=air
T=temperature

Have you driven it since you reset it. Drive around for about 5 mins over 35mph and see if it normalizes.

I agree. Whenever you disconnect the battery, it takes time for the computer to "relearn" it's settings,hence your poor pedal response. Drive it around for 5-10 minutes at moderate speed (don't horse it) to give the computer time to reset itself.

The pedal responce is better but for some reason the temperature gauge still reads around 40 degrees hotter for about three weeks know.

I had the same problem with the temp gaugue, but it didn't have anything to do with disconnecting the battery. I had to take the truck in for an unrealted service issue and had them look at it. They said the sensor was bad and replaced it. Problem solved.

Old thread here, but I was wondering if there was a way to calibrate this sensor too. I guess I will just drive around a bit.

I bought a new (to me, 2004) truck, gauge was reading consistently 10deg low. So I searched around, decided to order a new sensor, added it, and I am still 10deg low. Said 44 degrees in my garage yesterday, it was probably 54 degrees.

Just curious if there is any way to calibrate that anyone might be aware of.

No way to calibrate it that I know of. Mine was reading 15 degrees high. I just replaced it last week with a BWD model from O'reillys and it's been working fine ever since.

Only thing to calibrate would be compass if that's off.
