2007 TPMS sensor band

So doing some more reading on this whole TPMS sensor band, I'm finding out is it just a way to fasten the sensor to the wheel. Is my thinking right there? If thats the case I have found a couple worm clamp style bands for under $40.00 that would prolly work. I've also thought about using a medium gauged stainless steel wire. I'm prolly going to try the ss wire first it seems like a viable solution to me...what do you all think?:

Thanks
Shane

Yes, it is just a metal band that holds the sensor. It is a PITA when trying to dismount the tires from wheels that have it because it is very easy to break with a tire machine.
