Short or long block?

Would it be better to find a junk yard long block, or start with a short block. Then just take all the parts that won't be new off the old engine? The engine will be a 351W, carbed.

Short or long block?

In the Long run(no pun intended) get the WHOLE engine.
It is usually cheaper this way, plus you will probably have extra parts to sell (to help pay for the project)or have on hand for the future.

Short or long block?

I have worked this problem over MANY TIMES and you should look at the topics under my name for this answer. In the long run you get the better warranty and shorter hassles from a long block. TRUST ME I investigated this for a few months!
