Gibson headers

Hi, I recently bought a gibson dual exhaust system and i'm pretty happy with it, but it could be louder. If i get Gibson Headers for this rig will it give me more sound? Also, the headers that i'm looking at are ceramic(which are cheaper) or i could get the ceramic coated stainless steel ones for a lot more. I'd prefer to get the ceramic ones for less money, will i be fine with the ceramics? Will I be happy with Gibson Headers? Thanks guys

The only sound it will add is a tinny exhaust sound from the thin wall of the headers. You won't get any more sound out the tail pipe.

my expirence with Gibson has been their headers will need to be replaced after a couple of years due to either cracking or I have actually seen the flanges warp from heat - definately go with the ceramic coated option espically if you are towing the heat supression abilities are alot better than that of a chrome or raw stainless - JBA makes a nice set

Hey RIsuperduty89, we have both Gibson and JBA headers for your vehicle. BoostedGTR is right in saying that the Ceramic Coated will do better since they have a high-temp polished coating. It's kind of a drag that they cost a bit more, but it'll save you in the long-run. JBA headers are offered (in order of thermal protection & corrosion resistance) - Nickel Chrome Plated, Stainless Steel, Silver Ceramic Coating, and Titanium Coating. We certainly aren't the only guys out there offering these brands, and you might find them cheaper somewhere else, but I feel our site does a pretty good job of explaining the material options. Check it out if you get a chance.

Hope this helps,

I have about 65,000 miles on a set of stainless JBA headers. They haven't given me the first problem. I tow a trailor & race my truck so they have been tested. I put them on in 03.

I have 67k and most of those have been with my gibson coated headers.

JBA's are nice too.

I have the Gibson ceramic coated headers and have been very happy with them!
But I did just take them off to upgrade to long tubes.
