Don't know if the engine codes will be the same, but I'll check my '75 shop manual when I get home this evening and let you know what I find.

The 4th digit of the VIN is the engine code. My '75 manual doesn't show a F85 series (goes from F75 straight to F88). The only R or Q engine codes listed are for a 855CID (14 liter) Cummins NTC-335 diesel. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

C95 = C950 TILT CAB

R = 534 4V

U = Louisville KY Assembly Plant

622459 = 1965
--------------------------------------------------
F85QU644459

F85 = F850

Q = 477 4V

U = Louisville KY Assembly Plant

644459 = 1965

Which of these VINS matches your registration? A C Series is a blunt nosed TILT cab, while a F850 has the standard F Series front end (looks just like a pickup).

The F85.... Number is on the door and the C95.... Number is on a warranty card in the gloove box. It is not a tilt cab. It just looks like a standard ford truck front end.

Welcome to FTE

The C Series TILT CAB warranty card somehow found its way into your F850 glove box. Prolly from some inexperienced service writer who didn't know the difference.
