Australian Ranchero?

Hey ya'll, look at what Ford's selling in Australia, they call it the Falcon. Why don't they sell it here? Looks good to me, what do ya'll think?

They've been selling Ute's over there for a long time, I bet they'd do well here in the states.

i have been looking at them for years and scratching my head and drooling at the mouth for one. I don't know why Ford does not get it**** together and bring them here. I really think they would go good here as long as they don't over price them and put in small 4 banger engines that move nothing.
Its nice that you can also remove the box on these. They come in V8 and 6cyl. I sure would love one for a daily driver here. Only if I win the lottery then I get one shipped here.

Several years after the body style changed (1964), Ford began making the 1963 Falcon two and four doors in South America. The Falcon lasted in its original form for 20 years. The only outward change was the grille and taillights.

Yeah - South America get some interesting ones (how about the SuperDuty with a 4cyl Cummins diesel?)

Man, yours sure looks good! Dammitt, Ford, why are you short- changing us here in the States? That thing would definitely sell here! I'd buy one if it came with the new 3.5 V-6 and 6 sp. auto, should get about 25 m.p.g. Perfect for back and forth to work and some light hauling, would take some of the workload off my F-150.

We have a 4.0l I6 here instead of the V6... (turbocharged and NA) and 3V and 4V 5.4's...
The NA I6's get around 25mpg.

And we get the 6speed ZF auto out of the Range Rover/Jaguar's

That pisses me off, ya'll get all the good stuff! LOL!! I noticed your engine compartment looks a lot less cluttered than ours, guess ya'll don't have the emission requirements that we have.

Man just seeing that car truck makes me jelous of you Aussies. The emissions thing is why they have not brought that truck here. But with todays technology, they should be able to fix that and make those trucks here. I would love driving a navy blue truck to work and home everyday.
We are sure missing out here in America. How do we get the Ford trucks to get off there butts and makle them here. They are closing plants, but here is a machine that could bring them back.

For gassers our emissions requirements are just as strict as yours (diesels have life a bit easier here).

The reason everything is so uncluttered... because that is the look they wanted... and it wouldn't fit any other way - the DOHC 5.4 is bigger in size than a 460...
(the valve covers clear the suspension mounts by about 1/8th)

But if you ever make it over here... would be glad to take you for a spin.

(But the new ones look cooler - and they will have a 435hp NA 5.4 early next year... and a 420hp turbo'd I6)
