Hey all

Just found out about this section of the board. I just bought a 1978 F150 ext cab 4wd that I plan on fixing up, making it look nice, and using to pull a 17' 1964 Airstream Bambi II trailer that's been in my family for a long time.

The great part is everything works and it was maintained very well in my opinion and doesn't drop anything. The bad is the body. Some surface rust in some spots and one hole at the driver's side rear corner. I'm not sure whether I should fix the bed or get a new one.

Anyway I'd be interested in meeting up with any of you whenever. I moved out to WA state from IL about a year ago so I don't know a lot of people. I also drive a 2004 Wrangler that's built for offroading and ride a motorcycle as well if people are into stuff like that.

Welcome Aboard lud04X, good to virtually see you!

Good truck, I have a '78 myself (with a '79 front clip), the 400M with a C6 is a strong puller. If you have the same motor it will do well. This towed many a load of lumber and a big U-haul from Florida.

Your Airstream is just 2,000lbs dry (it's a 17-footer?), so no problemo.

We're having a get-together (G2G) June 22-24th here on Whidbey Island. You're 200 miles away by crow, if you want to take a fandamtastic bike ride up here then.

(Maps are in G2G thread sticky)
