Question About A Lifted 99 F350 I Want
I have been debating on and off about this F350 for say in Quebec.. (about 10hrs from where I lived)... So I am really trying to figure out what it would cost me to fix this to have it the right way or would it not be worth if for me to fix..
I am looking for a lifted truck, don't really want to do the running around looking for a kit if I don't have to.. I'd rather have the work on already but this truck is sick looking and if it will not take much for me to get it lifted right then I will do it.. If it's gonna be like lifting a stock height truck for me to have this truck done right then I mid as well start new I guess..
Basically when you look at the front suspension the truck has been lifted on blocks as it appears.. Now the guy tells me the only blocks they put in were for a bodylift of 1 inch.. The other blocks he says are stock from ford and are from a micro lift package.. Now the stock leaf springs are looking a little flattened out to me... (I will post pictures)..
The specs of the truck are.. 1999 For F350 with approx 50,000km on it.. 6 speed tranny. 7.3L Diesel with a chip.. 42" swampers... Door Locks and Windows are manual as well.. So it seems to be a basic truck when bought new.. Except the Crew Cab which I am sure cost a bit more plus the big motor... Truck has a 2 yr old paint job on it... It's got a full-sized spare tire in the bed of the truck (not shown in pictures I have).. Now he was at one point trying to get like over $35,000 for the truck which it isnt' worth that. The bottom of the doors sit about 33" from the gound..
Now my question is.. If I wanted to replace the front blocks how much work and approx how much money am I looking at spending??... If I had to do this, would it be just like starting with a stock truck.. Or is alot of the work already done as far as height goes.. I don't want to get into spending loads of money on it.. This truck would be used as a hard-core offroad truck.. Mainly road driving cause I like trucks and I like lifts (I guess that is because I drove transports and use to being high up).. Like how dangerous are the blocks..??
Here is the pictures

Any help would be great...

i just replaced the front springs on my 2000 EX and the cost was about $1100 what i did was take mine to the local heavy truck shop and they installed new springs in it and while they have it apart they could add extra leafs at the same time. From what i have heard blocks in the front are unsafe due to the twisting possabilities from the torque of the front end? But that is a nice looking truck. When i got my EX it was in Ottawa so my plan was to jump on a train to go pick it up, not too expensive when you compare the cost of fuel there and back with a second car and if you don't like it when you get there jump back on and go home?

We just had a guy come down and pick up a 2005 F250 Diesel with our FX6 package on it for $39,900. We do have a red F350 on the lot at the moment for $39,400 plus the FX6 if that would be work for ya. Or we can try to do a search to locate you one, bring her in then add the FX6 to it. Are you far from Orangeville ? Perhaps come by to see me or give me a call to go over what we can do for ya.

I am from Whitby, Ontario.... I still need to sell off my Cobalt SS unless you can take it on trade.. Problem is it's a lease and I got about $7000 into it... I am looking at getting a F-350 or a GM.... Gas or Diesel... Crew Cab.. I was looking at the red one you have but $45,000 is a little higher..
But I am too far away to just come look.. The biggest thing is my car that I need to sell before I can do anything..
If you can me something around $30,000 or a little more that would be good.. But $45,000 is a little steep cause of the interested rate I would be paying on a used truck..
