Saturday - 30mar07. KRIPES what a rainfall!!!
I swear, five gallon plastic buckets were falling out of the sky with it - I-240 was a five carlength visibility on the way back from Olive Branch Miss.
235 and 245 15's do NOT like pooled water on the road edges either. I nearly pasted myself to three seperate guardrails...
AND I found a roof leak when I got home. It ain't a new one either. I don't think I want to go into that much - it helps if you don't marry an ignorant psychopath.
The pups were near drowned and terrified - reconstruction of the little fuzzy ones housing situation took me more time than dealing with the dang roof. They still soaked, but at least it's warm outside.
So how was YOUR saturday, BY GOLLY!

The theory is that the rain drives oxygen into the surface water, and the fish come up for (?) "FRESH AIR".
Next step in the cycle is they become more active. There is also a lot of food dropped on the surface from the rain. Bugs especially.
So in a nutshell - shortly after it begins to rain, it's time to try surface fishing!
Good time to drop a cricket or two with a light hook on the water and see what happens.
And did you know...
A very small dot of crazy glue on a hook shank will stick it to a cricket!

Now explain about me getting home just barely in time to rescue the puppies from the hail that fell tonight...
WHO THE HECK CAUSED THAT ONE?
Howling terriffied little ones, needing shelter and getting it just in the nick of time...
I'm tempted to pick one and let it sleep with me tonight. But I'm not tempted to wake up to a pile of puppy poo next to me...
