A diesel in an F-150 would be great. What would even be greater is to have an electronically controlled transmission that would allow higher gear ratios for towing and lower gear ratios for economy.
When the wife and I looked at the a small SUV for her I would have bought a Jeep Liberty with the Mercedes engine in it...if I could find one they were sold out and had a waiting list for a whole year.
What would even be better is a diesel hybrid in an F-150.

ya like the old two speed diffs that would be cool i am all for diesel. as a matter of fact i saw somewhere on the internet some guy got a 6.xL diesel in a 71 mustang and mad it a drag car and it was fast stock and i drove my g/f dads 7.3 psd and i loved it i didn't even know i was going 97mph till he said something lol
I was watching American Muscle Car last night & at the end they ran a segment with Gale Banks. Twin Turbo's on a diesel. Over 700 HP! He says diesels are the engine of the future. He's trying to make them lighter & keep them just as strong.
All the things we know & love about the diesel engine is now getting out to the hot rodder.
Don't mess with a diesel!

ya an all alum diesel block would be cool i mean i haven't heard anything bad bout gm and the alum head they use i am sure with the right alloy they can make a super light diesel and uber powerful just like porche did in the '70 with the all alum block that had no steel sleeve in the cly it was just pure alum and itt never had a prob

was this a serious post?? like i'm laughing because i'm hoping that this wasn't serious at all.... there's guys putting down over 1200hp with diesels... there's guys with PSDS!!!! hitting 800 (with NOS)... there's guys at over 1000 with a single turbo and NOS....

There was a short news broadcast the othernight about a new engine ford is about to release for use in the F150 and car lines that works like a diesel but uses gasoline as a fuel. Claims are that it is cleaner then either diesels or existing gas engines and is much more efficient on fuel use.

This is just as important, if not more important than Amsoil, which used to be taboo here on FTE as well.
Amsoil has never been taboo on FTE. Amsoil dealers, as well as "perferred customers" (a dealer who doesn't resell), have not been allowed to discuss the products. Its no different than any other automotive product. If you are not a sponsor, you may not discuss your products. Non-dealers are welcome to discuss any oil and have for years.

I was looking at the stats on your truck, how much HP do you want? Is your BigBoyToy a daily driver? Sled puller? Truck stop show queen?
daily driver/mudder/dragster i've never been to a dyno or a track (i don't think 17 is old enough to drive down one anyway... i'm gonna try in a couple weeks though), and i don't have ALL those mods listed in my sig, some are seperated by a "lookin to get" thing... right now i got... 3" downpipe to 5" stacks, tymar intake, boost, egt, trans temp gauges, bts tranny valve body, stage 2 injectors and my twildman chip should be on my front porch any day now

Cool! Let me know what happens on the dyno when you get a chance to do it!
