Red face Exp03 : odd behaviors of Power quarter rear windows

03 EB Power quarter rear windows not opening/not opening, the real problem is that sometimes these windows open and close normally and most of the time not opening and sometimes only the L one will open.

Have someone experienced weird behaviors of Power quarter rear windows like this.

Thanks

I have noticed something like this before, but I'd say 99% of the time they work fine. It hasn't done it in a long time though.

My wife's was acting up (back passenger side) and I started looking into it. When I got the controls taken apart it seemed that the wife had dumped something sticky into the control panel at some time and the sugar and dust had combined to make quite the effective insulator prventing the little rocker switches from operating properly

Spoke too soon. Wouldn't you know it, my driver's side rear quarter didn't open this morning the first time I pressed the switch. I pushed the switch to the closed position to close the passenger side and pushed back to open and they both opened.

I think the switches they use are just crap. I've had to replace the power mirror position toggle. I've read about others having to replace the seat heater/cooler switches and dials. And now this one is starting to act up. I guess when it quits working I'll have to replace it.

I had this problem on my Excursion. The windows will actually seal themselves to the rubber weather stripping. Just manipulate the seal while having someone else work the switch until it opens. Then coat the seal with a spray silicone or some other conditioner/lubricant.

I had this problem before on a different Ford vehicle. The drivers side window would operate sometimes, sometimes not until the window actuator no longer functioned. Its a safe bet that your actuator for one or both windows will be in need of replacement soon.

Thanks Folks

I would agree that the switch is the problem, because pressing it so many times would sometimes open either one or both windows, beside this switch is not illuminated as the moon roof switch.
broncoholic : 99% of the time, they are not working, definite the switches they use are crap.
Biscayne: noting sticky there.
RDRAY : I thought of this and cleaned them and the problem persists.
Freak4Ford : hope not.

Thanks again
